Jarna  Mac Kenzie  is our newest mechanic and  has joined Bike Otago from Queenstown.    Jarna   previously worked at Outside Sports and has worked overseas helping Emmiline Ragot  from the Suspension Centre with her bike  set up and repairs while she was racing on the DH World Cup Circuit.Greg and Jarna  recently visited Queenstown and enjoyed their ride through the snow. And yes here is a photo of Greg in his riding gear.                                   

Justin has been racing internationally since 2002 and has been riding professionally since 2006. Last year he signed a two year deal with Trek World Racing . Justin is seen here with his partner Tory and their 2 dogs,Maddy and Charlie. Justin spends 6 months of the year racing his Trek Session 88 downhill bike. Greg is Justin’s Dad. Greg has a long history with the MTB sport including the following…

Event organizer for MTBNZ which is part of BikeNZ. This involved organizing events on a National  scale for downhill and cross country through out New Zealand.  Junior Development  Officer for MTBNZ and Team Manager for National NZ Mountain biking teams (both XC and DH) that have represented New Zealand in Rotorua, Fort William in Scotland and Threadbo in Australia.

Greg is excited about the new ventures with Bike Otago and has already made contributions to the local Otago MTB community by being on the Mountainbiking Otago committee.

Nola is Greg’s wife and Justin’s Mum. She has helped out with many local mountain bike events in varying way’s whether as a marshall or helping with timing, Nola trained as a National MTB Commissaire in 2003 and has helped out at many MTB National events with the lastest being the Otago Peninsula challenge. Nola is now keeps herself very busy teaching part time while still working as Administration Manager afternoons and weekends at Bike Otago.

Brent is our knowledgeable Head Mechanic and has 15 years of competitive National down hill racing

under his belt. Brent and Greg together run the down hill runs on sunday.

Brent has been involved with many XC and DH events, normally doing track maintenance and the behind the scenes track building.

Fiona does Sales and Marketing. She loves the fact that she comes to work each day and gets to talk to people about what she loves! Bikes! She is passionate about creating a community where we all bike to some degree, especially when it comes to commuting!

Fiona is fascinated with old and different bikes and has a few oldies herself.
